Indication
Braúna is recommended for soils with medium to high fertility. The more prostrate growth of its tussock (decumbent), its thinner stems, and good regrowth facilitate the management of this grass, in addition to the good soil coverage. It is recommended for cattle in breeding, rearing, fattening phases, and milk production.

Origin
The material originated from Matsuda Genética, which was multiplied starting in 2004 for the beginning of selection and evaluation work. After obtaining the best plants, the final selection occurred between 2006 and 2010.
Agronomic Characteristics
A plant with decumbent growth, with an open tussock closing the ground well, extremely thin stems, good recovery after grazing, thin leaves, and intense basal tillering.
Use and Management
The MG13 Braúna is an easy-to-manage variety. It has a more prostrate growth of its tussocks (decumbent) and rapid regrowth, ensuring good soil coverage. Its soft leaves and thin stems contribute to better quality and digestibility of the feed, making it more recommended for cattle in breeding, rearing, fattening, and milk production phases. Grazing should occur on plants with a height of around 60 cm and no more than 28 days of rest, during the rainy season. Grazing should occur until 18 cm above the ground.
Morphological Characteristics
It is a perennial, tetraploid grass with a decumbent tussock growth, does not present stolons, of medium size with plants around 90 cm tall, leaf sheath without hairiness, lanceolate and glabrous leaf blade, good seed producer, with spikelet inflorescence, purple stigma and short raceme. The rachis is triangular in shape.
