The GOLD+ Series Encrusted Seeds bring the best in pasture seed technology to rural producers. Seed quality is ensured by over 40 years of experience from the Matsuda Group in production, processing, analysis, and commercialization of forage seeds, in partnership with Incotec, a world-leading company in seed treatment and coating.
Only seeds of high purity are used for encrusting. To guarantee this high level of purity, the seeds go through various equipment at the Beneficiation Unit, which selects by differences in size, weight, and even color, using machines with photoelectric sensors.
Subsequently, the seeds undergo a scarification process aimed at increasing the purity level of the batch and eliminating seeds of low vigor or with poor formation. In some cases, these low-quality seeds can represent up to 10% of the total batch.
From these batches of high purity, Incotec's technology allows active ingredients and additives, such as fungicides and insecticides, to be applied in a sustainable and highly secure manner during the encrusting process. All seeds come already protected with fungicides. It is important to note that the raw materials used in encrusting do not affect the quality and germination of the seeds. With seed protection and a controlled environment within the encrusting, germination in the field is more standardized and efficient. This is because encrusting can avoid various risk factors that hinder pasture establishment, such as insect and bird attacks, excess or lack of moisture, among others.
